Description

These are the ruins of the old Hatschepsut Tempel. Once it was a great tempel, but today you can see what had left after 4-3000 years. But it's still impressife, isn't it?
And there on the left side, you can see an obelisk.

That makes sense that this would be at Hatshepsut's Temple because the pharaoh's name carved on the wide, center column of the obelisk is that of Aakheperkare Thutmose (I), which is Hatshepsut's grandfather, right? ^^; With the supplementary glyphs that the ancient Egyptians loved to add in to the cartouches of sara name and nsw-bity name, it looks like Thutmose (II), but if you look at the very top, the Horus name clearly is that of Thutmose (I), not his son's. And then, between the two names in the cartouches, you can see the Golden Horus name, again, clearly that of Thutmose (I). Unfortunately, my ancient Egyptian isn't all that great, so I can't read the whole thing yet, but it appears to be a list of predecessors, with the name of Hatshepsut's grandfather being displayed most prominently. I think she died around 1458 B.C. or so. So, that would make that temple roughly 3500 years old.
